The lake at Springwell Lodges in full afternoon light

About Springwell

The lake came
first.

Two lodges in mature forest, in grounds built around a stocked wildlife lake.

The setting

The setting is the luxury.
The amenities are the fun.

The forest and the lake are genuinely the reason to come. Mature conifer on every side, a jetty you can sit on, and the kind of quiet that is hard to find within reach of the North Coast. That part is closer to a countryside retreat than anything else.

But look at what's actually on the ground and it's a warmer, more sociable place than that makes it sound: hot tubs, a covered lounge with a slate pool table, a gas BBQ and a garden pod on the lawn. Not every lodge has every one of those. Each lodge's own page says exactly what comes with it, and we would rather tell you upfront than have you arrive expecting one and find the other.

Who runs it

Run by Troy
and his family.

Springwell is family-run rather than managed at a distance. You will let yourself in without waiting on anyone. If something needs sorting, whether a question before you arrive or a recommendation once you are here, you are dealing directly with the people who look after the place, not a call centre.

The lodges

Two lodges,
and a third on the way.

Luxury Studio and Luxury Lakeview Retreat, with the Luxury Forest Retreat to follow. Two separate lodges rather than two identical units. The hot tub and the pool table belong to specific lodges, not both, so it's worth checking what each one actually has before you book.
